To be able to answer the Greek invitation 'akolouthei moi' (ακολουθει μοι) of Jesus, which means literally 'follow to me', we must be able to hear His voice and recognize that He is YHWH ELOHIM in flesh who incarnated to die in our place to redeem us (Romans 10:9-11).
After we answer the 'akolouthei moi' invitation, we become Christ acolytes. As Christacolytes (followers of Jesus) we must endeavor to remain following close behind Jesus to not deviate to the wide-open road of perdition that is exactly right across and very crowded.
To follow the strait road with Jesus, we must learn all His commands in Moses and the Prophets (the Scriptures), and as the Apostles discourse on them in the New Testament, not as the false prophets twist them (Deuteronomy 11:1, John 14:15-21, 15:10).
The foundational guideline or guidance for the Christacolyte anchors on the immutable foundation of the Scriptures and the understanding that no Writers in the New Testament can ever disagree with Moses and the Prophets (the Scriptures) in any iota, even when it appears that the New Testament is teaching an iota which is contrary to what is in the Scriptures (Matthew 5:17-18).
Jesus Christ [the LORD] (YHOSHUA MESSIAH YHWH in Hebrew) has the sole authority on what He wrote to Moses and His instructions to Moses, long before He became flesh (John 13:34).
As the Author of all the writings in the Bible (John 14:15), Jesus declares that it is impossible for even an iota (an equivalent word for a character in the Hebrew language) to change in His words. Jesus says for any such change to occur, the heavens and the earth must disappear or vanish first. Meditate on the depth of that statement. We read that in Matthew 5:17-18 and elsewhere.
In Matthew 5:17-18, Jesus asserts that His coming has no effect on Moses and the Prophets. The word ‘abolish, annul, et cetera’ depending on your translation means ‘to loosen.’ We must understand that Jesus means that He did not come to make the Law of Moses easier by heralding the lifting of some restrictions from it. Hence, there can never be any argument against anything in the textbook we call the Old Testament (James 2:10).
Jesus says that He only came to fulfill Moses and the Prophets. He fulfills the Scriptures in being what the works of the Law of Moises meant to portray, which is that the blood of Jesus was to be shed for long lasting justification, not annually on the day of atonement, for those in the world who repent and believe in Him (Galatians 2:16).
What do the spiritual leaders do with the misguided flock (2 Corinthians 4:3, 2 Timothy 4:3) that follows them? They override the doctrines of the Scriptures which can never be changed (Matthew 5:17-18) and give their followers their precepts (Mark 7:7) which teach the contrary of what the Scriptures command all men to keep. That is blasphemy, witnessing Jesus and His words falsely to unsuspected souls.
To avoid Judaizing, they set their religions apart with different day of rest, for example, from the religion of the Jews who killed Jesus by legislating against the God Legislator Jesus. Well, not all the Jews rejected or killed Jesus. Nevertheless, whether the Jews killed Jesus or not, Jesus says that salvation is from the Jews and declares that nothing in Moses may change and Jesus still holds Moses and the Prophets as His voice to listen to avoid going to hell (Luke 16:19-31).
Those who follow the changes of time and of the laws (Daniel 7:25) and of the words against God (Jesus) are misled by the agents of Satan who are disguised as messengers of justice, of righteousness (2 Corinthians 11:15).
Daniel 7:25 ABP
(25) and words against the highest he shall speak, and the holy ones of the highest he shall mislead and shall be of the opinion to change times and law. And it shall be granted in his hand until a time and times and half a time.
Remember that Jesus says that if we love Him, we keep His commandments not some of them:
Leviticus 22:31 ASV
(31) Therefore, shall ye keep my commandments and do them: I am Jehovah.
John 15:10 ASV
(10) If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.
2 Corinthians 11:15 ASV
It is no great thing therefore if his ministers also fashion themselves as ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works.
For now, Jesus is still knocking on the heart of every willing man to react, wake up for repentance and remission of his in the name of Jesus. To avoid going to hell, whether you believe that hell exists or not, Jesus, in Luke 16:29-31, is pleading with us to listen to Him in Moses and the Prophets.
The major topics of dissension with the dissenters in part of Judaism that do keep us away from the salvation of Jesus have been dissected into various separate websites for your edification in Babylon to keep you in the right strait path following Jesus once you break away having answered to or chosen to heed the Greek invitation ‘Akolouthei Moi’ or ‘follow to Me’ in English.

Mark 8:34-38 DRB
(34) And calling the multitude together with his disciples, he said to them: If any man will follow me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
(35) For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel shall save it.
(36) For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world and suffer the loss of his soul?
(37) Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul:
(38) For
he that shall be ashamed of me and of my words, in this adulterous and sinful generation: the Son of man also will be ashamed of him, when he shall come in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
(29) But Abraham saith, 'They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. (31) And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, if one rise from the dead.' Luke 16:29,31 ASV
Where do we find and listen to the voice of Jesus? In Moses and the Prophets, a.k.a. the Scriptures of the Jews (John 5:39), according to the teachings of Jesus in the parable of the rich man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31).
Jesus says that He and God the Father is ONE. The Spirit is the Spirit of both plural Hebrew Gods. The Spirit of Gods ('Gods', which is singular 'God' in English, is plural in Hebrew but requires a verb in singular, which speaks of monotheism) was hovering on waters before the landscaping of earth to sustain life.
Jesus says that He built His church on the rock, on Peter, on his declaration that Jesus is the Son of God who, according to Nathanael (John 1:49), is also the King of Israel who is YHWH ELOHIM in the Scriptures who was made flesh by God the Father to give immortality back to all believers who overcame.
Jesus calls His followers (Christacolytes) to come after Him, to follow Him, not to turn to the right or to the left, to imitate Him. However, the spirituals and those who have faith (believe, trust) in them get ahead of Jesus and put Jesus behind them in teaching the opposite of what Jesus teaches. Case and point, Jesus says He was risen after three days and three nights as Prophet Jonah was in the belly of the fish, but the spiritual leaders teach two days and two nights, from Friday to early Sunday morning.
'AND HE WHO DOES NOT TAKE HIS CROSS AND FOLLOW
AFTER
ME IS NOT WORTHY OF ME.' MATTHEW 10:38 EMTV
Also, in Matthew 5:17-18 and elsewhere, Jesus says that He has not caused any change in the law of Moses but fulfill the ritual portion of Moses, however, the spiritual leaders of Christianity change the seventh day Sabbath to Sunday and teach their followers to disobey Jesus in the same manner. Furthermore, in the Law of Moses, Jesus forbids the consumption of certain meats like pork. However, in flagrant disregard for the declarations of Jesus in Matthew 5:17-18 et al, the spiritual leaders teach those who believe in them, have faith in them, or trust in them instead of believing in Jesus that they may eat pork, as if Jesus somehow makes other declarations telling us that the forbiddance has been lifted and has become permissible in His era.
Sadly, the fact that we read in Isaiah 65:4 and 66:3 that Jesus (God) rebukes those who eat the swine's flesh and, in Isaiah 66:17, that He will burn them with fire at the judgement day, has not resonated in the heart of those who follow their spiritual leaders instead of Jesus.
Whether or not we voluntarily decide, just as Eve decided and Adam took their own decision, to disobey Jesus to follow another's point of view, remember that if you must decide in any doctrinal matter the Greek language indicates to 'follow TO Jesus' not away from Him.
Akolouthei Moi! says Jesus to be saved according to John 3:16. Depart from me! Says Jesus to those who follow any spiritual leader and gives precedence to their words instead of to the words of Jesus (Mark 7:7, Matthew 25:41). Moses and the Prophets form a cohesive block because they speak from the revelation of Jesus to them. Spiritual leaders of today speak their own teachings against the united front of Moses, the Prophets, and the Apostles (Matthew 5:17-18, Mark 7:7, Luke 16:29-31, Matthew 7:21).
Jesus is special to God the Father because Jesus says that He also keeps the commandments of God the Father and that He wishes we would do the same by keeping His commandments which are very commandments of God the Father (John 12:49-50):
"If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love". John 15:10 ASV
John 12:49-50 ASV
(49) For I spake not from myself; but the Father that sent me, he hath given me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. (50) And I know that his commandment is life eternal: the things therefore which I speak, even as the Father hath said unto me, so I speak.
FOLLOW ME! SAYS JESUS, NOT MEN.
Jesus told Moses to go up there so He could give Moses writings to teach the Israelites.
As teaching materials, can we expect the Israelites or us today to disagree with what Moses was to teach them based on the knowledge they or we amassed in life or back in Egypt or in the world?
Teaching materials are textbook materials for learning their contents without rejecting any part, if we want to pass the exam whether for class or for heaven. How to read the textbook of the Bible to understand it and apply it in our life for salvation?
Perfection is required for salvation because anything less is sin (James 2:10).
We all claim that as human we cannot be perfect. Yet, Jesus calls on all who believe in Him to be perfect because, He says, God the Father is perfect
John 3:16 contains a message of love unto eternal life for those who believe in Jesus and a warning of punishment for those who do not believe in Jesus and His Gospel.
How do we show appreciation of that love and how do we express our love back to God to be saved?
Please, join, and support this nascent Ministry!
